Hi everyone, we are almost there already!! ![]()
Survival Guide
By now, you should have received an e-mail including our SBC Madrid 2012 Survival Guide. Please, keep it next to you as it will help you a lot! We dont want to be annoying but we have to make sure you know exactly what to expect when you arrive to Madrid (you can find it in the guide too):
SBC Madrid App
If you own an iPhone download our SBC Madrid App from Apple Store and don’t miss anything at the congress. You could access on your phone to schedules, point of interest locations and how to get them, description and details of all activities, contact information, feeds to keep up to date during the congress and much more! We have got such a feature thanks to our sponsor Altiria, mobile marketing experts and App developers.
Towels
We all agree that Hitchhiker’s Guide to the galaxy is a great science fiction comedy series but you actually have tobring your own towel as well as soap & shampoo as unfortunately it is not included in the accommodation
(we were notified yesterday).
Your free time and TouristEye
If you have not decided what will you do in your free time on Saturday and Sunday afternoon you can plan your tour with the help of the mobile application TouristEye:
To discover Madrid and its surrounding, you can use TouristEye, a travel app created by our fellow IEEE members. It’s a cool and useful website and app for iPhone and Android that you can use to plan your trip to Madrid and have all the attractions, restaurants, tours and maps offline so you don’t pay roaming.
Google, Multicultural evening (MCE), and Track selection checking
First of all, Google will be recruiting at the congress! More info: http://www.sbcmadrid.es/sponsors/google-recruiting/
Regarding the MCE, you should have received an e-mail with information about it, in case you have not, please have this in mind:
What is the Multicultural Evenning?
It is an event where each IEEE section will show the typical food, clothes and customs of their country. There will be one or more big tables for each group where you will organize your food and drinks.
What do you need to prepare before coming to Madrid?
Also each section will do a 5-10 minutes presentation of their activities. You can send us a video with the presentation or if you prefer you can make the presentation on live during the event. There will be a screen where the videos and the presentations will be projected. Please, contact with other members from your local section that are coming to the SBC&GOLD Congress to prepare together the Multicultural Evening.
What will you have at the Multicultural Evening?
Regarding the food, you will be able to either cook typical meals from your country or just offer typical prepared products and drinks that you will have to bring with you to Spain. There will be cooking utensils, kitchenware and basic cooking ingredients such as salt, butter, oil,…. Other needed ingredients will have to be bought by you in the “Multicultural Dinner preparation” free time that you will have (up to 2,5 hours).
You will have available cups, dishes and plastic cutlery, and the Spanish section as host will provide you with dinner and beverage.
In order to supply everybody’s needs, we need to know what appliances and what amount of basic ingredients you will need to prepare the food. For this purpose, please fill the form you can find HERE.
